Stunning vintage choker featuring 16 handmade Folkloric Aztec Mayan Symbolism Medallions, some with animals, interspersed with ancient coin replications. Signed “TALLERES DE LOS BALLESTEROS TAXCO GRO HECHO EN MEXICO STERLING 925” and model number “223.”
This sterling silver choker is 15 1/2” long, with a secure notch clasp. Medallions are 1 1/4” wide (rectangles) and 5/8” diameter (coins). Total weight is 3 ounces. Excellent near mint condition for its age (approximately 82 years old). A rare Jalil Majul Ballesteros work of art from pre-1942. A beautiful, elegant, fun, and rare piece.
