This genuine First Day Cover features the new Edgar Allan Poe stamp, cancelled from Richmond, VA (where he was raised). The cachet shows a portrait of Poe, a cat, ink well, handwritten pages, and a copy of 'The Raven'. The cachet is printed in three colors in addition to black and white - rare for the 1940's.
