Historical blue transferware plate by Enoch Wood and Sons, Burslem, dating from 1819-1846.
An uncommon Lafayette commemorative Plate made at the time of his return visit to America in 1824. The stamped blue title on the back reads; 'La Grange the Residence of the Marquis Lafayette.' Decorated with 'La Grange te Residence of the Marquis Lafayette,' within a fruit and flower border, impressed mark.
Diameter: 10.25 inches. Note: tiny chips, does not detract. A rare piece of historical Americana for collectors.
